Environmental, Spatial & Level Design
More In depth
-
In this section, I will showcase my work in level, spatial, and environmental design, highlighting a project that demonstrates my ability to create immersive, functional, and visually engaging spaces. And showing some interior design examples.
I strive to create engaging environments and design spaces that enhance the storytelling and user experience.
Some of the things I do include: interior design, exterior design, level / world layout.
I also love doing post processing and immersive audio (both to enhance a desired mood or feel). -
I am very passionate about designing spaces that evoke a specific mood or feeling. I always carefully think off every detail to ensure I create an atmosphere that resonates with the audience.
My goal is to not just design visually appealing spaces but to build immersive environments that tell a story, provoke emotion, and leave an impression.
This could be with subtle audio cues, bold visual statements, or anything in between. I strive to create worlds that feel immersive and tell a story!
Some of My Work
Silent Protocol
Designing the environment and audio- visual- feel of a horror game.
-
Silent Protocol is a game I worked on for a project with some peers. In this game you navigate a nuclear facility after a fallout and have to retrieve an object without getting caught by a monster that follows your sound.
-
Some of the aspects I worked on are the spatial and environmental (level) design.
I started by creating the entire map in a 3D space (Sims 4) and furnished all the rooms accordingly to make sure they told a story and would fit with the goal of the game.
Afterwards I listed all the objects in every room so the artists who I was working with knew what assets needed to be created and so that the people who were implementing knew where to place everything. I send these as a list per room and also included some pictures of the rooms and a walkthrough video.
I also did all the post processing, audio and songs for this game, that was really interesting since I had to do a lot of research on what type of sound effects and audio should be used in these types of games in order to make sure the user would have an immersive experience. -
I worked on this project with:
Dara Bachvarova: 2D assets, UI and Monster sculpt
Mirjam Foekens: 3D models
Daphne Alblas: Implementation and Story
Bram Salomons: Programming game elements
Yoel Koolwaaij: Programming Phone minigames and implementation

Interior Design
I love making room layouts and storytelling with interior design.
